For those of you who make your own coffee and also have acid loving plants such as hydrangeas, azaleas, rhodos (to name just a few), you can use your coffee grinds to sprinkle around those bushes. I’m going to try it on a hellebore as well since they like acid too. I always put mulched oak leaves on one of my hellebores throughout the winter (oak leaves are good for acid-loving plants too) but I’m going to try coffee grinds once I pull those leaves away when the weather turns warmer.
Make sure you don’t put the coffee grinds in your main compost pile if you have one though, because other plants and vegetable gardens would not want coffee grinds as a type of fertilizer. Use it specifically for your acid-loving plants.
