One of my Allium Cristophii bulbs was planted in a sunny spot in the backyard. While the crocuses and daffodils are barely coming up in the front garden on the north side, the allium shown above is already 4″ high because of the southern exposure.
By June an 18″ amethyst colored flower ball of fireworks will appear.
In the fall the fireworks continue even when the flower dies. I love the look of them around the garden and one dried flower works great in an arrangement or on its own in a vase.
