Nauset Beach, one of so many beautiful beaches on Cape Cod, is part of the National Seashore. I took this photo the morning of the hurricane last Sunday. There was very little rain (the sun kept peeking out of the clouds all day) but there was plenty of wind and waves. It was really good kite flying weather! (click on photo to see)
All beach grass is fenced off from visitors to allow it to grow and control dune erosion. Mother Nature is the only gardener at the beach. I remember running down huge dunes in Provincetown (the tip of Cape Cod) when I was a kid – needless to say, this does not happen anymore! We all just take pictures of the incredible seascapes.
