I’ve been keeping my eye on the fig cuttings, saw some of them were really starting to sprout roots and I thought it might be time to transplant a few.
Unfortunately, when I pulled a few of the cuttings off the paper towel, I didn’t do it gently enough – the roots stuck to the paper towel and came right off the cutting! Now I know better….
2 of the cuttings were ready for transplanting:
I watched a video on transplanting fig cuttings, which advised using a potting soil with perlite and vermiculite, and to cut holes in the bottom of a plastic cup. So I did.
I have a feeling I’m going to be needing larger plastic cups in a month or so if I start seeing lots of roots around the inside of the cup.
Quite a pair!
As for the other 3 cuttings, I cut them back a bit and am starting over with a new moist paper towel in the ziploc bag.
